INTO THE PATIENT WAITING...

This past week was a week that I had been praying about for weeks in advance - if that makes any sense! Let me give you a short run-down. Last week was spent in Greenwood Hills, PA with two of my dear friends Anne and Sarah. We went to a Missionary Orientation Program where we spent 6 days in intense Bible sessions about living the life of a missionary. There were plenty of opportunities to fellowship with all the people who were able to come to the Orientation - we were able to go canoeing, take long walks, sing hymns, roast marshmellows and eat around the table...all discussing who Jesus Christ is and how He has and is continually changing our lives. It was wonderful to meet so many new people! Not knowing each other, but knowing we were one in Christ and knowing that our desires were also focused on the same thing. Last weekend was quite the adventure...my stomach was constantly filled with many butterflies flying around in my stomach. Hahaha - but as Mr. Kelderman says "If you train them to fly all in the right directions...then it won't be so bad!" : )- Perhaps you are wondering as to why I was overtaken by nervousness last weekend. Well...Anne-Marie G., Emma, Marie, Kimberly H. and myself were all asked to come speak at a Ladies Missionary Day at the Northside Bible Chapel. The idea of me speaking made me quite nervous : / It was hosted by a group of young girls called the M&M Club; which stood for Mission & Ministry...isn't that wonderful? These girls get together (their fearless leaders are Emily Peters and Jenny Keane) every month with a desire to grow closer to the Lord, help out their chapels and encourage other believers across the world. They put together a Saturday that was set aside for Missions...we all came to speak and share what the Lord had done in our l...

This past weekend was spent in Tulsa at Camp Christian. It had been 5 years since I had last been there and it did feel a bit strange being one of the "older" folks at the camp! ; ) It's hard to put into writing what the Lord taught me over the weekend, it's hard to even think of how to write it! Would you like to hear my story anyways? I'd just like to share some thoughts that He placed on my heart today and what caused these thoughts. I remember a little sigh that escaped my lips as my feet hit concrete yesterday after having been driving 2 1/2 hours back home from Tulsa. Time in the car was precious. It was spent listening to my brother A.P., talking with Cristina and sharing with each other what the Lord has taught us, drinking rootbeer, and while dear Cristina was sleeping I had plenty of time in the quiet car to be silent, listen, and talk with God. Lord, I don't understand! You're too awesome, too wonderful...words can't even describe how beauti...

Psalm 111 Praise the Lord! I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright and in the congregation. The works of the Lord are great, studied by all who have pleasure in them. His work is honorable and glorious, and His righteousness endures forever. He has made His wonderful works to be rememered; the Lord is gracious and full of compassion. He has given food to those who fear Him; He will ever be mindful ot His covenant. He has declared to His people the power ot His works, in giving them the heritage of the nations. The works of His hands are verity and justice; All His precepts are sure. (isn't that beautiful!) They stand fast forever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness. He has sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant forever: Holy and awesome if His name. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdome; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.

It will not do to say that you have no special call to go to China. With these facts before you and with the command of the Lord Jesus to go and preach the gospel to every creature, you need rather to ascertain whether you have a special call to stay at home -Hudson Taylor This quote by Taylor have been going over and over in my head this evening. Makes me think alot about what He wants me to do versus what I want to do. One of my favorite artists, Andrew Peterson, wrote these words down...he wrote them in relation to Abraham and Sarah following the Lord into an unknown land. But the same can be applied to us today, how do we respond to the unknown situations ahead of us? Do we glorify Him in the circumstance? Where are we putting our strength? Are we willing to obey? - - - Holy is the Lord, Holy is the Lord. And the Lord I will obey, Lord, help me I don't know...the way. - - - ~Psalm 111~
