Bible Club Video

Here is the video I put together for our 2008-2009 Bible Club year! I showed all the kids the video on Sunday afternoon after the meetings and they were laughing, giggling and shouting out names of everyone they saw : ) It's also published on youtube.com so feel free to watch the video there as well, just type in "bible club 2008 2009" and it has a picture of three kids on it!

Last Night of Kids Club

It's so hard to believe that another year has come and gone with our Bible Club at the chapel. The last night of the year is always so bittersweet to me - I love these kids so much. We've been through so much together and have learned many things along the road about ourselves and, most importantly, about God and His Son Jesus Christ. Many of these kids come from very rough backgrounds. Some live in shacks, others have parents that are in jail, some come to Bible Club simply because there is food available for them that they couldn't get at home, and others come becomes they want and they need to be loved. Did I mention I love each and every kids that comes to Bible Club? : ) ...I must say, Guthrie is a huge mission field and our little chapel is right in the middle of it all. The Lord has blessed our Bible Club in hundreds of ways this year - the biggest being that so many kids were attentive this year and always seemed to ask searching questions about God, life, the Bible

I Will Delight

There are many things that come to my mind that I can delight in - warm homemade bread, seeing a rainbow, phone calls, colorful flowers, watching little plants bud in the springtime, talking with my Mom or reading a good book. These are all little things that bring a smile to my face : ) What things come to your mind that you can delight in? My next question is this: What does the Word of God say that we should delight in? Where should our delight truly be, in regards to eternal matters? That is what has been on my mind this evening. I can think of hundreds of "earthly things" that might give me delight for a minute or two - but will they truly satisfy? Will they satisfy me all my days? Of course not! Only my Lord and Savior can truly delight, satisfy and nourish this hungry soul of mine. He is our Living Water where we don't have to come up dry, thirsty, or parched again, "...whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I s

Smile : )

This video made me smile so BIG as I watched it and I hope this video makes you smile BIG too - and maybe chuckle a little bit as well. The video makes me think of an elderly couple I remember meeting back in Ireland, their last name was Carpenter. He was 94 and she was 86. They had been doing the Lord's work in Belfast ever since they were married - about 70 years! But they were as spry and chipper and lively as ever before, according to the both of them. They were one of the first elderly couples I met in Belfast for the summer Anne-Marie and I helped out with the outreach their. One evening I had the treat of sitting down with the both of them and talk to them...I love older couples! They have such wisdom and they have so much care about seeing the next generation raised up in "truth and grace." Knowing their marriage had sustained that long and knowing they never gave up in the ministry in Belfast, despite all odds against them (especially during the riots), makes it
