So this is my summer.sewing.project. 

All of these materials were found ON SALE on July 4th. After fireworks were displayed that evening, I locked myself up in my room and began sewing away. Do you ever wonder if you missed your calling? Well - as I was sewing, it made me wish I could spend every minute of every day simply sewing. It was relaxing and so fulfilling to see the ideas one has in mind turn into something tangible.

My to-do sewing list
1. 4 pillowcases
2. 2 accent pillows
3. a lamp shade
4. 2 Euro sham covers. 
5. quilt top
As I look back at the list, I can successfully say that more than 1/2 of the list is completely finished!!!!
Here are the finished products :-)

the quilt i've been working on for many months - all that's left: quilting the top & the border





a queen size quilt. these are my favorite colors - reds, browns, and whites
So perhaps I haven't missed my calling....maybe it's simply beginning :-)

Where do I begin to describe all that the LORD has been teaching my little heart about Himself? There is no way I could resist the tempation to put this little "story" on here that happened to me today - I have never laughed so hard nor been so stunned by a 2-year-olds perception. Here it goes: I was at Target in between class period just browsing around...being really bored because I didn't need to buy anything and I wasn't looking for anything. But I found a cute and modest dress on the 75% rack for only 4 dollars! It was black and had red flowers printed abstractly on it. I picked it up and was rummaging around to see if there were any more great dress deals (because I LOVE a bargain!). Suddenly, this little boy with blond hair and blue eyes comes up to me...he looks up at me, scrunches his little face and says with utmost curiosity, "Why are you buying a spiderman suit?" People Need The Lord

Last weekend was quite the adventure...my stomach was constantly filled with many butterflies flying around in my stomach. Hahaha - but as Mr. Kelderman says "If you train them to fly all in the right directions...then it won't be so bad!" : )- Perhaps you are wondering as to why I was overtaken by nervousness last weekend. Well...Anne-Marie G., Emma, Marie, Kimberly H. and myself were all asked to come speak at a Ladies Missionary Day at the Northside Bible Chapel. The idea of me speaking made me quite nervous : / It was hosted by a group of young girls called the M&M Club; which stood for Mission & Ministry...isn't that wonderful? These girls get together (their fearless leaders are Emily Peters and Jenny Keane) every month with a desire to grow closer to the Lord, help out their chapels and encourage other believers across the world.
