I Corinthians 13

The words in 1 Corinthians 13 have brought me to a low position this evening...a position of needing to be "purged" "washed" "made to hear joy and gladness" "cleaned" and "restored." Those words are taken from Psalm 51 - a psalm written by David after he saw his sin in light of Who God Is. Psalm 51 and 1 Corinthians 13 have much in common, mainly because they humble a person.  These chapters in the Word of God point out that 1) we need Him 2) we can do nothing on our own 3) our "burnt sacrifices" and our "tongues of angels" are merely "clanging cymbals" when we fail to LOVE the LORD our GOD with all our heart, all our mind, and all our soul. David realized this - the sacrifices needed are not ones that man sees but ones that  God sees, "a broken and a contrite heart." Paul also realized this - flowery words, understanding of mysterious truths, prophetic powers, and tongues of men (and angels!)

This Saturday - I did not sit. Actually, quite the opposite occurred.   --- Tried Zumba for the first time with a co-teacher - if you haven't tried it, grab a friend and hit your local gym. It was such a blast! It's salsa dancing put into a workout routine...I didn't know you could laugh so much in a group workout but it was so much fun! Probably looked like an absolute dork because most of the ladies knew what to do - I resorted to clapping my hands/tapping my feet if I didn't know what to do. This happened a lot. After Zumba, I needed to make some brownies for our break on Sunday morning at church.... normal brownie cake mix + secret ingredients: coffee & vanilla extract & an extra egg voila!!! mini cupcakes with whipped cream cheese frosting delicious brownies that will be topped off  with small fresh strawberries in the morning - - - The past few days, my thoughts have been drifting towards the word "faith." I've been asking the

So this is my summer.sewing.project.  All of these materials were found ON SALE on July 4th. After fireworks were displayed that evening, I locked myself up in my room and began sewing away. Do you ever wonder if you missed your calling? Well - as I was sewing, it made me wish I could spend every minute of every day simply sewing. It was relaxing and so fulfilling to see the ideas one has in mind turn into something tangible. My to-do sewing list 1. 4 pillowcases 2. 2 accent pillows 3. a lamp shade 4. 2 Euro sham covers.  5. quilt top As I look back at the list, I can successfully say that more than 1/2 of the list is completely finished!!!! Here are the finished products :-) two of the four pillowcases :-) blues and pinkish-browns :-) this lamp has been in the family for a long time - just updated the shade! "new" bed!!! the quilt i've been working on for many months - all that's left: quilting the top & the border a queen size quilt. th
