Encouragement to Pass on
The Lord certainly encouraged my "o ye of little faith" heart this morning with the verses in Psalm 27:13-14 "What would have become of me had I not believed that I would see the LORD's goodness in the land of the living! Wait and hope for and expect the LORD; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the LORD" (Amplified Version). This version was very refreshing because it brought out different words to my mind that reminded me that I NEED NOT DESPAIR! Of course, I don't have a lot to despair about because God has been so very faithful to me in the past few months and especially the past few days. But there are times when my heart (and perhaps yours as well) becomes very burdened with cares of this world, or the unfortunate "busyness" we have created into our lives, or upcoming tasks that seem too daunting to handle with ones own strength. The message I am clinging too is I NEED NOT DESPAIR!
Be strong my friend and take heart. If you are weary, tired, maybe even in need of spiritual revival...take heart. God is for you - He will go before you...that is an unshakeable promise we can rest our hearts on in this world.
What shall we say then to all of this?
If God is for us, who can be against us?
Who can be our enemy if God is on our side?
...
For I am persuaded beyond doubt that neither death nor life,
nor angles nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come,
nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all of creation
will be able to seperate us from the love of God
which is in Christ Jesus our LORD.
Romans 8:31, 38-39
Thanks, Mel. I needed this.
ReplyDeleteGreat reminder for all of us. Remember this while at camp this summer and others create "busyness" into your life. Continuing to pray that the Lord would grant you the desire of HIS heart. ken
