sing!

Sing, O daughter of Zion! Sing and shout, O Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem! The LORD has taken away your judgments ... there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus...He condemned sin in the flesh...I have blotted out, like a thick cloud, your transgressions, and like a cloud, your sins... , He has cast them and your enemy out. .. as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us...He shall bruise Your heel, but He shall crush his (satan's) head ... The King of Israel, the LORD, is in your midst ... God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble...God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved...the LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge...I will never leave you, nor forsake you ...; You shall see  disaster no more ... but we see  Jesus who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor t...

TEA!

Image
Can you believe it? These amazing kids are drinking the most amazing thing with me - TEA!!! What a special way to spend Saturday night :-)  We played a game called "You've Been Sentenced." It.Is.Hilarious. You have 10 random cards with the same word in different parts of speech - rapid, rapidly, more rapid, the rapidest... You get the idea. Well, our goal (becaue we're cool) was to create the funniest sentence. Simone won. Her sentences was: The most dangerous gangster will have outer pigs. Of course - we all "sentenced" her to the courtoom and she had to explain her answer....it's simple - there was a really mean gangster who eventually was kicked out of the earth and began roaming the universe. He eventually found a herd of pigs and decided to adopt them. We laughed and laughed! The best part of the night was praying with the children as they went to bed. Thank you LORD for the faith of a child! "Then the little children were brought to ...

A Sweet Reminder

There are some days that I look back at my journal entries and I *cringe* and ask myself, "what was I thinking?" Or I *sigh* and thank the Lord that He is so patient with me! But there are some days that I am really thankful for journal entries! Today is one of them. I want my friend, Kelly, to know I was thinking of her as I wrote this back in January and I'm thinking of her again as I re-write these words on my blog. January 1st, 2012 It's 10:53 a.m. and it's the 1st day of a new year! I'm in the Chicago O'Hare Airport - I'm waiting to go to OKC and just had a 9-day week with Tim, his family, and friends from the Meadow ridge Bible Chapel. A part of me wants to write every little detail from the trip while another part of me just wants to write some reminders to my heart...reminders of Christ, my security in Him, my HOPE & JOY in Him, and that my Bridegroom cometh soon.           1st - remember that no foundation is strong except that which...

Do I allow quietness and confidence to by my strength?

Image
Quietness. Rest. Peace. These three words often come to my mind as characteristics I love in the Lord Jesus Christ and our Great God. But, it's been interesting to study the Holy Spirit and see that the Holy Spirit is given to all believers in this dispensation of time for that very purpose. To give us quietness, rest, and peace..."and I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter) that He may abide with you forever - nevertheless, I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away the Helper will not come to you, but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness and of judgment." John 15:16-17, 16:7-8.- The picture below is from a journal entry a few months ago..it reminded me of the in dwelling of the Holy Spirit and His work in our lives in this period of time.

My Constant One

Two Weeks. Slightly sick. Three days. Really sick.  - I'm now on Day 3 of this bug and I could use an attitude check. Actually, that's what I prayed to the LORD when I traveled to Wal-Mart to pick up more medicine, lozenges, and Kleenex's. Guess what? He gave me an attitude check ... in a much needed way. My dear friend Kelly gave me a CD to copy a few summers ago, it was a compilation of some of her favorite songs and she titled it "Praying Through the Rain." I set it on random. It played "My Constant One," by Michelle Tumes.  Can a song make you start crying? Yes. And you can imagine what crying, stuffy nose, headache, and tight lungs creates :-)  As I listened to the song, I just wanted to fall on my knees in the car and just ask for forgiveness. It is so easy for me to only see the bad in circumstances and only see the disappointments. Where have I lost sight of the fact that my God is constant in every circumstances. Not just in the good one...

My new rocking chair is officially cat approved.
