God's Character

Faith. 
This has been "word" of the day, the "word" of the month, and the "word" of the year for me.

 

Faith.
"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1

Faith.

This is the very foundation of who we are as believers. Our foundation, our faith is sure because our foundation is solid. "The Lord us my ROCK and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." Psalm 18:2

And what better way to recognize the solidity of our faith then to acknowledge and trust the very character of the God of our faith. Confidence in God's character enables us to throw ourselves with complete abandon into His care - Linda Dillow. God doesn't ask for blind faith, He asks for abandoned faith...faith in Him and His Word. 

Faith raises us above our circumstances. Faith enables us to be content even when life doesn't make sense. Faith is the bulwark that keeps us strong when we're assailed by agonizing thought about what might happen or by what has happened. - Linda Dillow

These next few days, months, and even year...I hope I'll be able to write a few words and sentences about the character of our Great God and the fact that our faith is real. It's solid. It can not be shaken.

People Need The Lord

Last weekend was quite the adventure...my stomach was constantly filled with many butterflies flying around in my stomach. Hahaha - but as Mr. Kelderman says "If you train them to fly all in the right directions...then it won't be so bad!" : )- Perhaps you are wondering as to why I was overtaken by nervousness last weekend. Well...Anne-Marie G., Emma, Marie, Kimberly H. and myself were all asked to come speak at a Ladies Missionary Day at the Northside Bible Chapel. The idea of me speaking made me quite nervous : / It was hosted by a group of young girls called the M&M Club; which stood for Mission & Ministry...isn't that wonderful? These girls get together (their fearless leaders are Emily Peters and Jenny Keane) every month with a desire to grow closer to the Lord, help out their chapels and encourage other believers across the world. Update on My Bro : )

God has placed my family on quite a journey with my brother Stephen...so much has happened in the past 2 1/2 years with him. Incase some of you are out of the loop with my brother, he was diagnosed in May of 2006 with a brain tumor. He had surgery 2 weeks after being diagnosed but they couldn't remove the tumor because it was directly inside his optic nerves. Meaning, if the doctor had removed the tumor then he would have woken up with no vision. But, we praise the Lord that he gave the doctor wisdom not to take the tumor out. After the surgery, he went into 28 treatments of radiation to stop the tumor from growing. We didn't really get major results back about the radiation treatment until early 2007. The radiation had done it's job! It had stopped the tumor from growing for a time. Due to all of the surgery and radiation and already deterioration of Stephen's eyesight, he isn't able to drive because he has a very limited peripheral vision. Despite all of these dif

Learning About Him

Where do I begin to describe all that the LORD has been teaching my little heart about Himself? He is such a patient Shepherd and the past two weeks in Europe have given me an even deeper glimpse of how much I need Him and His guidance in every area of my life : ) That is a little tid-bit as to what I am Learning About Him - but perhaps you all would like to see a few pics of the adventures the LORD has put me on in order to bring me to a deeper realization of my need for Him and His help. Yes, I went all the way to Europe! For 2 weeks (and I still have one week left in Europe) I have been traveling all over. From little Zettlitz to the huge Berlin and then driving through the Alps to seeing beautiful Venezia (Venice), Italy. All of this was something the LORD has been bringing about for some time and I have had the priviledge of spending these journeys with a dear friend of mine, Tim Haugrud.
